As February unfolds, we pray you are experiencing God's grace and kindness in this busy season of church life.

One passage we've been reflecting on this month comes from Colossians:

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters… It is the Lord Christ you are serving." (Colossians 3:23–24)

This command isn't only for those who preach, lead worship, or stand at the front on Sunday. He says, whatever you do.

It reaches into church offices, finance meetings, boiler rooms, and late-night kitchen tables - where rotas are updated, safeguarding is ensured, emails are answered at 10pm, and accounts are reconciled after everyone else has gone home.

"It is Christ we are serving."

Not the vicar.

Not the trustees,

Not the congregation.

Christ.

This truth reshapes how we see church operations. If Christ is the one we ultimately serve, then the audience that matters most is already aware and pleased by faithfulness.

When work feels heavy or unnoticed, remember: Christ sees what others overlook. He measures not visibility, but faithfulness.

And in every rota completed, every account reconciled, every practical problem solved, the quiet reality remains: it is Christ we are serving.
